The Celebration of Marriage
The Bible says, "Marriage should be honored by all" (Hebrews 13:4). Therefore, your wedding ceremony should be planned with proper respect and dignity. A church wedding is always an expression of faith and an act of worship. Your wedding should declare not only your love for each other, but also your love for God. Love is a precious gift from God, and we celebrate this gift of God's love in Christian marriage.
Scheduling the Wedding: Contact the pastor at Tabernacle to check the availability of the date you desire for your wedding.
Conference with the Pastor: A counseling session with the pastor and the bride and groom is important and required. It will deal with the marriage relationship and the planning of the wedding service.
Guest Ministers: The pastor of Tabernacle Church shall officiate at the wedding. Other ministers may, at the pastor's discretion, be invited to share in the wedding ceremony.
Receptions at the Church:
Wedding receptions may be held in the Fellowship Hall of the church. Please schedule the date with the pastor to make sure it is not being used for another function. Church tables and chairs are available for use.
Alcoholic beverages are absolutely prohibited.
Smoking is absolutely prohibited in any of the buildings.
If a caterer is being used for the reception, they should provide their own serving equipment. The kitchen and the Fellowship Hall must be left clean and in good order. Reasonable care should be exercised in the use of the church's property and furnishings.
