STRATEGIC PLANNING COMMITTEE
We are currently updating our Strategic Plan for 2007-2012. If you have any ideas or suggestions for how we can make Tabernacle an even better church, please contact Reid Greenmun.

The Strategic Planning Committee, benefiting from a truly heroic and Herculean effort on the part of Jill Norton, completed our first ever 5-year Strategic Plan and presented our plan to our District Superintendent (DS) at this year’s annual charge conference.

This year’s Charge Conference arrived sooner than normal, on September 17th, 2006.

As you may recall, during the 2005 annual Charge Conference DS Clarence Brown directed our church to conduct a strategic planning process and to develop a 5-year plan that detailed our vision for where we believe God desires our church to be in 2011.

In essence our 5-year plan needs to be a road map that directs our path so that we all arrive at the agreed upon destination 5 years from now. The 5-year plan is also somewhat of a Master Task list that documents who will be doing what, when, and how we will monitor their progress over the next 5-years to help guide all of us as we take this faith journey together.

It is fair to report that our DS was well pleased with our strategic planning process progress to date. I would say that is a bit of an understatement. But … much work remains to be completed.

We are pleased to report that the results of our church-wide survey have been compiled and the results tabulated. Once the results have been approved for general distribution to any church member that wishes to read them we plan to make copies available in the narthex and to post them here on our website.

The work remaining largely involves the Council of Ministries committee chairs. They need to review the 5-year Strategic Plan, decide what recommendation they plan to tackle first, and then develop Action Plans to document who will do what, when.

This is not a small effort – but it is an important phase of our strategy for implementing our Strategic Plan.

Nothing worthy of our Lord is accomplished without the Lord’s blessings and help, so the Strategic Planning Committee requests that each of you add us in your prayers – and ask the Lord to help us do his work.

The Strategic Planning Committee is very pleased to have completed this year’s 5-year plan in time for annual Charge Conference, but we understand that our work is not yet complete. If you are interested in seeing the current Strategic Plan and results of the church-wide survey, please click on this link. (This is a large file, it may take up to one minute to download. The results of the survey are the last 5 pages of the report (pp. 30-35))

Anyone wishing to join our committee will be most welcomed. Please contact our chair, Reid Greenmun (Cell: 615-4533), if you are willing to help us carry the ball from the 10 yard line into the End Zone.
